Supro Claimed to Government from the Human Chain on the International Literacy Day-2011
SUPRO claimed to the Government to ensure 100% Literacy throughout the country by 2015 at the International Literacy Day 2011. Following the theme of the Day ‘Literacy and Peace’ SUPRO organized a National Level Human Chain at 11:00 on September 8, 2011 infront of the National Museum, Shahbag. Dhaka.
Speakers claimed to recognize education as fundamental rights to meet the Millennium Development Goal by 2015. They urged to increase the budgetory allocation especially for primary and adult literacy formulating effective plan to achieve optimum results.

Democracy is prerequisite for sustainable development of a country. To maintain an effective democracy free flow of information is necessary. Journalist and press play an active role to provide news and information to the society. But in least developed countries or where governance institutions are weak, journalists suffered a lot sometimes at the cost of their lives collect news and information. In its various campaign and advocacy, SUPRO integrate news and information of press. On the other hand, journalists always extend their cooperation for dissemination of the campaign information and for effective advocacy.
Health is our right: Ensure the accessibility and rights of essential services specially health for the citizens by enhancing the capacity of government health institutions in assurance of essential drugs, Sushashoner Jonno Procharavizan (SUPRO) observed the – World Health Day 2011 with full enthusiasm and great exertion through a peaceful Human Chain and Cultural Program at Shahbagh, in front of National Musium, Dhaka, wherever various like minded NGOs, Dhaka Campaign Group, Green Voice & Students Forum joined and expressed solidarity with the popular demands for ensuring health rights for all.
