SUPRO-Campaign for Good Governance started its mission of Budget Campaign for Pro-poor, decentralized and participatory district budget since 2003. Last one decade, SUPRO has popularized the issue to the grassroots people and made them sensitized through various interventions both at national and district level. Now SUPRO is working in 45 districts in Bangladesh with 600 more networking members and has made strong demands of district budget through raising grassroots voices. To lead this movement, SUPRO has initiated various capacity building activities for both individual and institution.
As a part of this capacity building initiatives, SUPRO organized district level training workshop for Local Government Representatives at Pabna on 5 September 2013 accordingly.
In Pabna district a brief power point presentation was presented by National Council member of SUPRO M A Salam & Manju Rani Pramanik. Vice Chairman of Pabna Sadar Upozilla Alhaj Md.Shohidul Rahman was chief guest in there.
SUPRO organized a 2 days-long workshop on review of social audit instruments at YWCA Auditorium from 28 -29 July 2013. 23 districts secretaries and DCFs attended the workshop.
Since 2010 SUPRO has been conducting social audit on primary education and health situation in 20 districts. From this year 3 more districts has been added on for performing social audit. So 23 districts is going to conduct social audit in the year 2013.
Sushasoner Jonny Procharavizan-SUPRO has organized an orientation meeting for its selected 15 networking members on the issue of participatory and decentralized budget on 28 July 2013 at YWCA Auditorium. The selected districts are Tangail, Pirojpur, Kushtia, Sylhet, Narail, Satkhira, Comilla, Nilphamari, Dinajpur, Pabna, Lakshmipur, Chapainababgonj, Rangamati, Magura and Jhenaidah. District Secretaries and DCF from the selected districts took part in the orientation meeting.
