On the eve of International Literacy Day on 8 September 2013, SUPRO organized several programs like Education Fair in district level and human chain in central level. Education fair (Rally, Display, Quiz, Essay / painting competition, cultural functions etc) on the campaign theme of SUPRO at district level in 45 districts. The 45 districts are Faridpur, Jamalpur, Rajbari, Mymensingh, Shariatpur, Tangail, Netrokona, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Gaibandha, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Natore, Pabna, Sunamgonj, Moulovibazar, Sylhet, Bogra, Jaipurhat, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Chapainobabgonj, Nilphamari, Thakurgaon, Hobiganj, Chittagong, Feni, Comilla, Noakhali, Rangamati, Lakkhipur, Bagerhat, Khagrachari, Chuadanga, Jessore, Jhenaidah,Khulna, Kushtia, Pirojpur,Magura, Narail, Sathkhira, Borguna, Barisal and Potuakhali. On the other hand human chain held in front of national museum, Shabagh, Dhaka at the time of 10.00 am to 11.00pm. Human chain also held on the campaign theme of SUPRO. Dhaka campaign group, students forum and SUPRO staffs are participated in the program . Among the total numbers of participants (75) 45were male and 30 were female. Speakers at SUPRO Human Chain Protesting Rape Violence
To protest rape violence in Bangladesh and to demand extreme punishment/ death sentence to rapists SUPRO organized a Human Chain in front of National Press Club on 10 January 2013. Along with SUPRO, like minded organizations and its alliance members of Dhaka Campaign Group also make solidarity with the Human Chain. 45 district networks of SUPRO also organized Human Chain protesting rape at local level. Speakers at human chain demand highest punishment (sentence death) to rapists and rapid action against them who are related with the recent rape violence at Tangail, Savar, Faridpur, Sirajgonj and at any other places.
Sushasoner Jonno Procharavizan-SUPRO forms a human chain and street drama show in front of National Museum, Dhaka on October 16, 2012, Tuesday on the occasion of World Food Day, demanding steps to promote cooperatives for development in the agricultural sector to ensure safe food for all. SUPRO observed the day at grassroots with a view to inspire and mobilize people to ensure safe food for the people, who are lagging behind in the society.
The grassroots people, they pay tax to government. The Bangladesh Constitution recognizes citizens’ right to food in state policy. Article 15 (a) of the constitution stipulates the fundamental responsibility of the state to securing to the citizens the provision of the basic necessities of life, including food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care. Government should ensure safe food for poor and poorest of the poor of Bangladesh.
